SÕÕR Circular MakerLab is a working platform for testing and applying circular material practices through structured workshop methodologies and open lab use by model: EDUCATION - EXPERIMENTATION - ACCESS.

The project has developed and implemented repeatable formats such as:
- 3D Clay Printing as a Circular Prototyping Method
- Monthly MakerLab
- Biomaterial Library
- Bio-material Driven Workshop: Navigating in Change
- Public Co-creation sessions
- Exhibitions

Upcoming events

15. JUNE '26 - MakerLab – monthly makerlab with biomaterials / 17:30–19:30 Registration: https://forms.gle/7sfjibitC2zYyEt97

10–12 AUGUST' 26 – SÕÕR Summer Lab for gymnasium and vocational school students
Two groups: A (10:00–13:00), B (14:00–17:00). Registration: https://forms.gle/5ZVmjA5vBTJGjoQV7

The Summer Lab is a summer school on prototyping with nature-based materials, held at SÕÕR’s circular makerlab (Kastani 50, Tartu). It brings together natural sciences, technology, design, and citizenship education.
The core idea of the programme is that the chemical and physical properties of materials – and the technological choices associated with them – are best understood through hands-on making and experimentation. Participants will go through a complete design process: they will identify and define a problem, select an appropriate nature-based material, create a prototype, test its functionality, and draw conclusions based on their experience and observations.
